Is John Okay? (Eres Una Puta!)

Now Playing: Battle by Taylor Swift

The first shots fired
Everybody’s gathered around
You’re looking at me like
I tried to take you down
No, no
That’s not what happened at all
There’s no sound
I’m waiting on your next move
You shoulder down
And I knew where to hit you
No, no
It’s not how I wanted this to go down

Now we’re standing in the ring
And you make the first swing
And now we’re fighting dirty
But I ain’t going down till they break it up

And I used to be on your side
Now it’s looking like we’re going to battle
And why you’re taking shots at me like
Somebody’s gonna give you a medal
And I never want to hurt you
But I’m tired of taking all these blows
And so
I’d rather be on your side
But if you want fight
Baby let’s go
Oh, oh
Let’s go
Oh, oh

But you’re not who I thought you were
And this is looking more like a war
Looks like we’re going to war
Going to war

And I used to be on your side
Now it’s looking like we’re going to battle
And I’m trying not to break down crying
No one’s gonna give you a medal
And I never want to hurt you
But I’m tired of taking all these blows
And so
I’d rather be on your side
I’d rather be on your side
But if you wanna fight
Baby let’s go
Oh, oh
Looks like we’re going to war
Oh, oh

The first shots fired
Everybody’s gathered around
You’re looking at me like
I tried to take you down
No, no
But if you wanna fight
Baby let’s go
_____________________________________________________________

I’m writing this just after we got back from our getaway weekend, and I can’t tell you how needed it was. Just the small act of getting away for a few days, seeing our friends, being alone with each other, it’s just been exactly what I needed, what I think we both needed, and I’m just super grateful that we were able to do so. The first thing that brings a smile to my face is the title of this blog, and the weekend was so great, that there were so many candidates for what the blog was going to be titled because there were so many funny things that were said and that happened. But the one I settled on just made me laugh the most. My boyfriend and I were talking from the street parking we had to endure when we went to Macado’s for lunch and we passed this car that was like for whatever the hell it was for and I think it had the name John Oakey on it and I didn’t even see it when we first walked past it. But he saw it and thought it said “Is John Okay?” And it just cracked me up, even more so when we treated it like a philosophical question about whether or not John wanted to be okay haha. Good times. And then the parentheses comes from Allen and I making up a spell for Kelly’s party, especially when we saw Lisette because we think we’re funny.

Anyway, so right after I posted the last blog, my boyfriend and I reironed our Hogwarts Houses Outfits and headed over to his friend Katie’s place for a little hangout / walkthrough haunted house thing that they had created and it was really low-key, but fun. We headed back to the house and started watching Fantastic Beasts, but ya girl was tired and so we didn’t get to finish it because sleeep. Thursday was the day that Grey’s Anatomy truly decided to fuck me all the way up by having this wonderfully crafted episode and then showing everyone who died at the end like HOW DARE YOU?? Allen was consoling me because I was a mess after it, let me tell you. But at least Will & Grace and HTGAWM we’re low-key enough to set me back in track haha. And then Friday, glorious Friday came. I was a little worried as far as work went because I had been taking half-lunches so I could accumulate some overtime, as well as staying over ten minutes each day, so I could leave early, so we could leave early heading down to Roanoke / Blacksburg for the weekend. I was only worried because they were putting my department through a reset and I was worried about leaving them high and dry, but it ended up working out alright, even though we had hella company there, but ya girl knew how to swerve that disaster and I was able to leave at 12:30 like Allen and I had planned.

Luckily, we had packed the night before, so that was already done by the time we headed out. After getting something to eat, we headed out on the road. Which normally wouldn’t be a bad trip or hard or anything, but there was a wreck in the way that held up traffic and added an hour to hour drive, plus it was raining almost the entire way there. Super water sign aesthetic, but hella annoying when traveling. Anyway, then we got the Airbnb and met the host, who was really nice, gave us a free bottle of wine, so hell yeah. The place was just as nice as in the pictures. Only, we didn’t realize / weren’t told that this place was basically an add on to an already existing house, as in, the host family lived on the other side of the house, separated by a bolted door in the kitchen. Which is fine, but still, would have been nice to know. Another thing was there’s no bedroom door, and the bedroom is downstairs where you have to, or most y’all people I guess, have to duck under the ceiling to be able to get down there. But hey, at least it was super pretty and within our price range.

We relaxed for a little bit, but then it was time to get our costumes on and head over to Kelly’s party. We put our Hogwarts outfits back on, and headed out to buy supplies for the night and for the rest of the weekend before getting there. Both places that we stopped to get drinking stuff were hella crazy busy, and we didn’t know that it was Homecoming weekend until way later. But the party was fun! We got there, started drinking, West finally got there, we all hung out. And then suddenly, I was fairly drunk and loving it. There’s this wonderful picture that West took that shows me in my pique state, but it was a lot of fun. Oh, and briefly, I met a girl that went to the same Taylor Swift concert as me, and we were just talking about it when they had to leave so that was interesting. Allen and I were starving at the end of the party, so we stopped by Cookout. Big mistake. My stomach was not having it. Considering the fact that we were back at the Airbnb until about 3ish, I tossed and turned a lot, and not just because the bed there was abnormally soft to a fault. My stomach was going through it, and I ended up going to the bathroom like four times throughout the morning, it was enough starring Jennifer Lopez. And then, something incredible happened. Before we went to bed, I saw stuff online talking about a leaked Taylor song, but I tossed it aside as fake hysteria. But when I was up and able Saturday morning, it was real.

It’s the song in the NP because obviously, when a new Taylor Swift song comes to light, I’m going to be obsessed with it. Initially, people were saying that the song, which is still on the fence about whether is titled Battle or Let’s Go (I prefer Battle myself), was an outtake from 1989, even though it’s heavily acoustic. But then I was ready that it was after Red but before 1989, which makes way more since because it’s hella Red era. And that fact makes me super happy because not only is it Red Season, but it’s also a masterpiece of an album so if this bop was scraped from Red, imagine the other Red era miracles out there waiting to be heard. Ugh. So good. I’m still trying to learn all the lyrics, but it’s incredible. Her melodies and harmonies continue to fuck me up in the best way possible.

Trying to make plans that worked for everyone was a nightmare. After I got up, I was texting my friends to see what worked for everyone, and a certain someone was getting on my nerves just because it seemed like, and ended up being, that if they couldn’t bring someone, they weren’t going to come and I’m like 👀 bitch I came all the way down here and you’re gonna come at me that way woooooowww. But I’m over it, clearly. So the plan was looking like everyone was going to meet at dinner. But before that, Allen and I headed to my old store to see if there was anyone to visit. And like I figured, not a whole lot of people were working. But I got to see Teresa! So essentially, it was worth it. Then we ate some lunch at Macado’s before heading over to my grandparents house. And that was fun. Nothing much has changed there really. But I did give Allen the complete tour, because he hadn’t seen the entire house, so I showed him the rest of it. Then my grandma showed me that my cousin, who lives with them now, is using my bookcase, which is fine as long as she takes care of it. Speaking of taking care of things, my old room? Trashed. My aunt, who is also living with them now, is moved into my old room and it looks like a disaster. Just everything is everywhere, and a mess. She’s using my treadmill as a clothes rack and my desk is just littered on top with crap. It’s whatever, it’s not like I have the room to take those things right now. But with Allen and I seriously looking into places, it might be sooner rather than later that I might be able to change that.

Ever since we got back, both of us have been feeling ready to go. I think it’s really just because this is the first time we’ve gotten away since I moved in, and even more than me, I think he’s ready to go. So he’s been hardcore looking for places, and we’ve found some that are viable options. We’ve got some appointments set up for Friday and Sunday to go scope out two places, so hopefully that ends up working out. I think we’re just looking forward to having our own space.

Anyway, so after talking to my grandma for a while, we decided to head out. After being prompted, I was even gonna stop by my dads house, but he never got back to me, so we headed back to the Airbnb and took a nap because of course we did. I got frustrated because I looked like Destiny wasn’t coming to dinner. But Ceara was going to meet us at the Airbnb around five, and then we were going to up to Christiansburg because Allen and I really wanted to go back to The Farmhouse to eat, and she was going to ride up with us. So we showed her around the Airbnb, chilled, and then headed up to Christiansburg. And of course, the food was amazing. Probably the best steak I’ve ever had in my life, it was incredible. Plus the special they had was a steak that came with a crab cake so it was literally Heaven. The only bad thing was West didn’t even get there until just after we had finished eating because he got stuck in traffic. But we headed back to the Airbnb to chill and drink. We ended up playing Picolo and then called it a night after a while. Allen and I watched an episode of Sabrina, but I know I was fading fast, and we went to bed.

We got up the next morning and got dressed, and we headed back to the store so I could see Destiny since she had to work. I ended up seeing Morgan too so that was a lot of fun, I’m just glad everything ended up working out really. Then we stopped and got some food at Applebee’s and headed on back to Richmond. The trip back was a lot smoother, some initial traffic but not too bad. And at least this time it wasn’t raining the entire time. We relaxed a lot when we got home because why wouldn’t we? The only real thing we did was watch more of Sabrina. Bitch, I know that it sort of started rough but it’s a good ass show. They just really need to take the bluring effect away from the editors.

Coming back to work Monday wasn’t too bad. Works just sort of been work, as usual, lately. I did get my schedule changed for this weekend though so I’m not on the schedule for both Saturday and Sunday. And there were talks of me moving to Domestics or Housewares, but I have no idea about what’s going on with those as of today, Wednesday. It’s be interesting though because I’d be in a department that I understand more, and I’m really good at the process of that side of the store and everything, but like I said, I have no idea what’s really going on with that. After work, Allen and I watched the final episode of Sabrina and bitch. Like, I can’t even believe how good it ended up turning out considering the slow burn at the beginning. I need Season Two right the hell now. Plus, it really makes me want to read the comics, just to see how different they are and if they’re pretty close to what we saw on the show. But Sabrina Spellman is here, bitch, and don’t cross her unless you want to be consumed by Hellfire. And we were on another level Monday night because we were laying in bed, doing the popular Milly phrase “You’re gonna fry, motherfucker” but with things our friends would say, and then we were doing it for random things like the I Don’t Know Her video and just losing our minds with laughter haha. I love him so much.

Yesterday at work sucked. Not because it was particularly bad, even though an associate and my assistant ticked me off, but because I was just over it. I think what had a lot to do with it was I hadn’t slept that great since we’ve been back from Roanoke, not that I even slept that great at the Airbnb, but I was struggling to get through the day yesterday. But luckily once I was off it got better. As soon as I got home, we went and voted, and then started watching Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, but it was getting late, so we didn’t finish it. Today’s been pretty good because I’m able to work at my own pace, I’m basically just doing price changes all day so I’m down. Plus I’m off tomorrow, even though I’ve got plans. I’m meeting with a dealership to see about trading in my car because, if we’re seriously looking to get our own place soon, it would be really beneficial if my car payment was any amount of less. And I want to bring up my Mac from the garage and set it up in the room with all my other things, in preparation for typing up my chapter of my book. Speaking of, I’ve been plotting out, thanks to the inspo Of Sabrina, another story I’ve had in the works that’s more supernatural based. I was plotting some hell good shit the other night, so at least I’ve been plotting even though I haven’t necessarily been writing too much lately.

And as I get ready to head to lunch at work today, please enjoy all these pictures (assuming Blogger uploads them correctly) from the weekend up until yesterday.

Until next time,

— Justin

‘Brina!

Now Playing: The Lucky One by Taylor Swift

Now it’s big black cars
And Rivera views
And you’re lover in the foyer
Doesn’t even know you
And your secrets land up
Splashed on the news front page

And they tell you that you’re lucky
But you’re so confused
‘Cause you don’t feel pretty
You just feel used
And all the young things
Like up to take your place

Another name goes up in lights
You wonder if you’ll make it out alive

And they’ll tell you now
You’re the lucky one
Yeah they’ll tell you now
You’re the lucky one
Can you tell me now
You’re the lucky one
Oh, oh, oh
_________________________________________________

So, so far, this week has been pretty ‘lax comparatively, and I’m thankful for that. After my last blog, it was my regularly scheduled day off, and I had plans. And by plans, I mean one plan, and by one plan, I mean getting my car inspected and getting an oil change. My appointment was for 10:30, so I got up shortly after my boyfriend left for work, showered, and headed over to that side of town. The dealership here was a lot different than the one back where I used to live. The entire service area is outside, in this building with dual garage doors on either side of it and you literally just drive your car in there. Once inside, they have computers and everything for you to sit at while you talk about what service you want. It was just weird because we were sort of in this makeshift garage crap and I was like what in the hell is this haha. But while I waited, and after sorting out that I wasn’t there to pay over 500 dollars for a service I thought was just simply an oil change and tire rotation, I used my down time to start getting caught up on Grey’s Anatomy. Let me tell you, Season 15 started with a bang, literally, and it was amazing to get caught up. Between the actual show itself, and all the commercials, but the time they rolled the ending Grey’s Anatomy title, one of the guys came to tell me that my car was ready. Also, I listened to the Red album for the first time this Red Season (Or for Allen, Scorpio Season) and a bitch was getting fucked up over The Lucky One for some reason. I’ve listened to it a few times throughout the week, so that’s why Taylor slithered up to the NP. But hey, a bitch ain’t complaining.

Then my true dilemma began. I was literally right beside the place we go to get sushi, and I could have really gone for some. And it’s not that I was afraid of dining along or anything like that, I just knew that it would take like over an hour for me to get my food / finish eating everything, and I just wanted to eat and be done. So I did what any rational person who wanted sushi would do: I went to Taco Bell haha. It was on the way home and quick and easy, so it worked. Once I got back home, I finished getting caught up on Grey’s Anatomy in preparation for that night’s new episode, and watched the first episode of Season 3 of Riverdale, which is taking a really weird turn and it’s interesting. It seems like it’s getting a little close to Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina.

Speaking of Sabrina, we started watching it this past weekend! The trailer was definitely accurate because it’s dark. They literally worship Satan, but Sabrina is defiant. It’s pretty damn good. Took a few episodes to get into it, but it’s definitely work the wait.

Anyway, after getting all that caught up, we watched our usual Thursday night TV, but we ended up going to bed shortly after Will & Grace because we were tired haha. But we caught HTGAWM the following evening. And then we had people over to just hang out. We were gonna go out to like Kabana or something, but we stayed in, drank, ate pizza, and drank. Like, a lot. Like more than I care to put a number to on this blog haha. But we played Picolo with Kelly and Andrew and Careese and that was just a hoot and a holler. Then after Kelly and Andrew left, Careese joined us upstairs and we played some more Picolo and then we watched Halloweentown because we’re super cool like that.

And because of how much I drank Friday night, I ended up calling out of work on Saturday. Mainly because I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, I was struggling to walk, so probably a good idea that I didn’t end up going to work haha. But it was nice having a chill day with my boyfriend. He wanted to go to this Brunswick stew and brew festival thing, but after having too much fun on Friday, we didn’t end up going. We did start Sabrina then, and then we proceeded to take a damn three hour nap because that’s who we are. We woke up just in time for dinner, and then we got our costumes together and got ready for Angie’s party.

Angie’s party was alright, but at first I was like 👀 because it was sort of slow starting and there were some other people there that were questionable at best, but after we got rained out and had to come inside, it got better. Of course, we tried to play Picolo, and it was a massive fail because I think people were just too drunk to really play which is a shame because it’s a lot of fun. Then we played 5 Second Rule or whatever that we played at Angie’s last time as well as a decently fun game called Stuff Happens. It was a good time but some people were just way too far gone to focus on any of the games haha. Then the next day all we did was chill, but we finally finished Mystery Incorporated! Ugh I can’t tell you how good that damn series of Scooby Doo is, it’s literally the best. It ended so perfectly too, just as my boyfriend had told me, and just go watch it. Then we watched some more Sabrina, made our Hogwarts Alumni shirts for Kelly’s Halloween party this weekend, and watched more Sabrina haha. We’re getting through it by now. Then we watched Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge, super awesome. And I’ve been reading more of my book, The Long Way Down. I basically watch demons with Sabrina and then read about more demons in it before bed. It’s been a nice little night cap to ease me into sleep lately.

Work has been just that, work. But we’ve got this visiting assistant from Ashland named Stephanie that’s really been helping me out a lot. She’s literally been telling me things I had absolutely no idea about as far as apparel goes and what we’re supposed to be doing and everything. But I’m finally FINALLY understanding, aka, asking Stephanie, what I’m supposed to be doing as far as like when I first come in and everything. But for the most part, it’s just been same old, same old. The only real difference is the fact that I’ve been taking only 30 minute lunches this week, as well as staying ten minutes over, so I have overtime to kill and can leave early Friday for our trip to Salem / Blacksburg this weekend. And since I called out Saturday, I’m working tomorrow to make up for it as far as my 40 hours and everything.

I can’t explain how damn excited I am to get away for the weekend. There’s so much to look forward too this weekend, even though our plans have semi changed because our Airbnb doesn’t allow guests over, but we’re working on that. We were gonna have everyone over (everyone here meaning Ceara, Destiny, and West) but like I said, we’re trying to work around that. But I’m so damn excited to see Ceara and Destiny. I don’t really have any super close friends here, aside from ones introduced to me through my boyfriend, so it’ll be nice to sort of reconnect with them. Even though I’ve literally talked to them about every single day through text haha. It’ll just be nice to actually see them. But yeah, hopefully I can see some people from the store and everything on Saturday when I stop in, and I’m excited to get to see my grandparents after leaving so that’ll be amazing. And I’m super excited to just be alone with my boyfriend. Not that we don’t have our own space here or anything, it’ll just be nice to be the only ones in the house. I’ve been feeling random waves of, I don’t even know how to describe it, nothing like bad or anything as far as our relationship goes but just sort of distance? Which makes no sense and I feel like it’s all in my head and everything. I’m just looking forward to sort of getting closer to him this weekend without any sort of distraction is all.

Tonight, or rather in a few short hours, we have yet another Halloween party to attend, so I’m looking forward to drinking, I mean going, to that. Today at work, I was literally the only person to even remotely dress up. I wore my Hufflepuff sweater that Allen and I made over the weekend. I didn’t even get any compliments, except online, but I’ll take what I can get. We’re wearing these to Katie’s party tonight, and they’re the same ones we’re wearing this weekend so we’re doing it up. Today I got us some wands to go with our outfits that we sell at work. I got Ron’s, and he got a Death Eater’s, and since he’s in Slytherin, it’s fitting haha. Happy Halloween!

Until next time,

Does Your Computer Have A Modem?

Now Playing: Spell On You by Chester Lockhart

I put a spell on you
Because you’re mine
You better stop the things you do
I’d lie
You know you did me wrong
You played me for a fool
You said you loved me baby
But none of it was true

I put a spell on you
Because you’re mine

I put a spell on you
Because you’re mine
You can’t stop the things I do
Don’t even try
There’s no escaping
No place to hide
Scream all you want daddy
You’re mine tonight

I put a spell on you
Because you’re mine
You’re mine

You’re mine
_______________________________________________________________

Can we take a second and just appreciate the fact that Chester Lockhart is releasing new music and consistently fucks me up with it? Literally if I were to get the chance to make my own music, it would sound like his. Or I would just need to hire him to be my producer because his beats and production are literally my aesthetic as hell. And the fact that he responded to my Instagram message about how much I love said production is just another reason why I love him. Ugh, go check out his music, it’s literally incredible. Also, the title of this blog comes from this video Allen showed me today of like kids from the 90s in an informational video taking about how great the new thing called the internet was. And this one girl kept saying the title over and over and we were getting a kick out of it haha.

Anyway, now that that’s out of the way, this weekend was really fun. Friday was a decent day at work, it flew by for the most part and then after work, we were just chilling and getting ready for the pumpkin carving that was going to take place later in the evening. And that ended up being a lot of fun. Kelly and Andrew came over and we drank some wine, carved some pumpkins, and just chatted and had a nice time outside carving. My spider pumpkin turned out pretty decent for hand drawing it and using a cut out for reference. Here’s a picture of our pumpkins!

In order, it goes his mom’s, mine, Kelly’s, my boyfriend’s, and Andrews. I really like how my spider turned out, even if it didn’t turn out how I was initially intending haha. But honestly, the fact that Kelly got done with hers first and it looks so good, pissed. She literally did that in like five minutes or something, crazy.

Work has been fine I suppose. I don’t mind the work at all, I’m just never really sure exactly what I should be doing on a daily basis, like as far as routine goes or anything. Which is fine, I just always feel like I should be doing something else, running freight, something. But maybe that’s just how apparel works here at this store. But every time I do try to take initiative and go above and beyond by doing something, I can’t execute it because of equipment. That’s been my biggest strife here, is not having the equipment to do my job correctly. Otherwise, work has been fine. It sucks getting up at 5:45 every morning, but it makes it worth it to get off at 3:30 every day. Today was a pretty great day at work, mainly because all the other apparel DMs, and most of them throughout the rest of the store, were off today, so I was able to sort of do what I wanted. And I got a lot of work done, so it was a chill day but also fairly productive.

This weekend, we didn’t do much since we were taking this weekend to be our chill weekend before all the Halloween parties come up and we leave for Blacksburg. We watched some movies, namely The Lake House (which was so damn good ugh) and Two Weeks Notice, both of which star Sandra Bullock and I just love her, she’s incredible. We’ve also started watching more of Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated because were fairly close to being done with the show and were itching to get to the other side of it. It’s just seriously the best iteration of Scooby Doo, so damn good. I really wish I could buy it, but 100 dollars, Apple, really? We did film a video together for my channel, a Q&A, so that was fun.

Thank God, I’m off tomorrow, I’m fucking ready. Even though I have to go get my car inspected and serviced, but hopefully that won’t take too long. The plan is to catch up on Riverdale and hopefully, Grey’s, if I have enough time. I hope so because I am jonesing to catch up on both. Speaking of, this is my last blog before the premiere of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and ya girl is HYPED. Hopefully it’s really good because at this point, I’ve built it up in my head so much that I don’t wanna be disappointed. But the creator of Riverdale is behind it, and Netflix, so fingers crossed!

Until next time,

I Don’t Know Her

Now Playing: Nostalgia by The Band Perry

Nostalgia
Confuses the things I want, yeah
It’s like a broke piece of my armor
Hoping all the time, time, time, time
In time
I stopped it there in a dime
When I’m butchering you like a punch line
I do it all the time, time, time, time
My memories
They always get the best of me
Can I erase my history?
Go back in time, time, time

Nostalgia
Come back, I still want ya
I’ve been thinking about the whole thing
All the time, time, time, time
Nostalgia
I should pick up my phone and just stalk ya
It’s all just so confusing
All the time, time, time, time

Amnesia
Don’t forget I need ya
You’re my favorite creature
For all time, time, time

Nostalgia
I, I, I still want ya
I’ve been thinking about our own thing
All the time, time, time, time
Nostalgia
I should pick up my phone and just stalk ya
It’s all just so confusing
All the time, time, time, time
_________________________________________________

What a start to the week, I guess? So Thursday ended up being a truly frustrating day at work. Without getting into it too much, what happened was my assistant manager second guessed and disrespected me in front of my face, behind my back. But you know, it’s whatever. Friday is my last day at this store, and I can truly put the past two work months behind me. I’m so glad to be getting away from the place that’s treated me so poorly since I’ve arrived. I’m really hoping that the new store is a good fit and treats me a hell of a lot better.

And then when I got off work? Well, everything was fine. We cooked dinner for everyone and that was great because who doesn’t love spaghetti? But then at around 8:30, with the crazy wind and rain from the latest tropical storm / hurricane named Michael, the power went out. And it didn’t look like it was coming back on anytime soon. So my boyfriend and I took our books downstairs to read and to be with everyone and we just hung out really, listening for the storm because they’d issued a tornado warning so we were being cautious. It didn’t come back in during the night, and I was left to get ready for my last day at this store by my phone’s flashlight haha.

I started reading a book this past week. Like, besides the fan fiction book I had printed, an actual book haha. The book is The Long Way Down by Craig Schaefer and so far, it’s really good. I’ve been hankering to read Harry Potter lately, but this has magic and mystiques well so, for the time being, it’s satisfying that craving. I need to start bringing it to work, just in case I get the urge to read, but so far I haven’t remembered. Speaking of work, my last day at my first store here in Richmond went well, went by pretty fast. The only bad thing that happened was this cat lady customer that just made it really really difficult, but whatever, IM FREE NOW. And it feels so good. I can’t tell you the amount of weight that’s been lifted off my lungs just for the simple fact of being out of that store. It’s so weird that the store’s energy is so depleting on a person, but it really is. Being at the new store is definitely not like that.

Speaking of, my first day was Saturday and wow, what a difference. I came in and everyone was so nice and greeting me and welcoming, literally the exact opposite of what I experienced at the Bell Creek store and I’m just really glad to feel appreciated and welcomed by the people here at Brook Road so far. I didn’t do all that much Saturday in my opinion and honestly, they could have just let me have the day off, but it’s whatever. All I did was zone and try to memorize my area and where everything is now. But it was good, really good, and the vibes I get from this store are really good ones, so I think this is all going to work out in the end.

After work though, we had a little bit of time before we headed to Ashland Berry Farm, where they were having a scare event sort of thing. They had four attractions, all pretty much spooky houses to walk through, that kind of thing. But of course, first we enjoyed the Beer Garden and even though it was slightly expensive, the beer was really good and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t even like beer. I forget the name of the brewery that was there, but they had this blueberry ale beer that was so damn good, I think I had three of just that kind. And it wasn’t just us, my boyfriend’s cousin and his cousin’s girlfriend were there with us, our second time hanging out with them again since Cooper’s Hawk, and it was a pretty good time. After drinking some, we decided to do this biggest attraction first, the woods. They lead you out on a hay ride and then drop you off in the woods. I honestly thought it was going to be more like, they dropped us off in the middle of the woods and that was it, we had to make our own way back or something truly messed up like that, but this was just like a lighted walk through a cornfield and then a series of houses that you go through that just happen to be in the middle of the woods. And don’t get me wrong, it was fun, but there were two things: One, I really had to pee, and I mean, really. And two, I didn’t jump or get scared not once. The real horror? Them not telling people that they need to crouch so that their heads don’t scrap the top of their constructed slopes in the houses. I ended up leading us at one point, I still don’t really know how that happened, but that was fine since I think I was the least effected by everything. The only thing that I was like oh this is scary about was the times where it was bitch black and you couldn’t see in front of you for anything. But all in all, it was a fun time. After the woods excursion, we went back to the Beer Garden, especially good timing too because they were about to announce last call and our tickets would have gone to waste and them shits were a hefty fee. After that, my boyfriend wanted to do this gyrosphere thing where they suit you into it and you spin around and around or whatever while his cousin and cousin’s girlfriend went to get food. Then we sat down and talked while they ate, I saw this girl wearing Taylor Swift rep merch, and then they decided to dip. We stayed to do at least one more attraction, that way, our money didn’t go to waste, and we did the Red Balloon Inn one, and it was alright, more slopes and things like that but hey, at least here I didn’t bump my head over and over again. Did I mention that I did all of this in rolled up sleeves and shorts? It was cooler that night, but I didn’t even start getting cold until the very end of the night. I was probably one of a handful of people who didn’t have a jacket and wore shorts. But I’m just a freak of nature like that.

Sunday was a nice chill day. For whatever reason, I don’t remember that much of it. I know we watched movies, we started Wonder Woman, but stopped it to watch the reboot of Charmed and girl. It’s a fucking mess. The pacing was awful, the storylines are rushed as hell, and it’s just not good. I went into it with an open mind, and it just continually made me angrier and angrier. If you enjoy the original, perfect Charmed, don’t watch the reboot. I wish it was good too because of the more diverse cast and LGBT storyline, but the core of the story is just not executed well. Whaaaps. We also watched What Happened To Monday which, of course, I had already seen but it’s so good, I really wanted Allen to watch it.

My next couple of days of work at the new store have gone really well. I’ve been introduced in both morning meetings on Monday and Tuesday. And I’m slowly getting into the swing of things at work. Still good vibes, still in good spirits, I’m just not sure exactly what I should be doing all the time. Honestly what I’ve been focusing on is the cleaning up of the mess that was given to me, so I haven’t done anything in the more technical and managerial side of things, but I’m sure that will come with time. Wednesday was my last working day before my scheduled day off, which apparently is going to be Thursdays now, and it was a good day, just busy. My plan was to do one thing and then management had me doing all this other crap, go figure. And then I finally pulled together all my Q&A stuff from people who watch my videos and my boyfriend and I filmed that after dinner, and then I didn’t post this blog because drinking happened and yuhp. BUT just a day late so better late than never.

He ended up staying home and playing hooky with me for the day, so we ended up changing our weekend plans to today plans. We went out for sushi because I’ve literally been bothering him so much about getting sushi and that was amazing as usual. And then we went to see A Star Is Born, and I’m conflicted. The music was incredible, and Lady Gaga was absolutely breathtaking in the movie. But the pacing was really weird. Like it would start a scene and then it would flip to another scene entirely and then flip again so it like never found its grounding but with certain moments in the beginning and then the last half of the movie. It was good, but unfortunately not as good as I was expecting for it to be. But the music sort of saves it, in a way.

So now we have Saturday opened up plan wise, even though I’m working, and Friday we’re going to be doing some family pumpkin carving and I think the newly engaged Kelly and Andrew are going to be joining us, so that should be a hoot and a holler. Then next weekend, we have a Halloween party at his mom’s friends house and then the weekend after that, it’s back to Blacksburg and my neck of the woods for another Halloween party and to see everyone back there. So our social calendar is booked haha. I’m looking forward though to some chill times this weekend. Maybe we can keep watching Mystery Incorporated and almost finish it. Oh, and the title of this blog comes from this damn video I saw the other day haha. I think it’s from the game Tomadachi Life where you have Miis or wherever and they can sing. I don’t know, they ended up being vines or whatever. But someone made a song called I Don’t Know Her and it’s Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj singing together and we keep talking about it and singing it non-stop so look it up if you want to be ruined haha. Also, bitch, the song in the NP is a fucking bop and I’ve been OBSESSED. The Band Perry is taking the Taylor route by leaving country behind and saying hello to dark pop and I am in full damn support.

Until next time,
